The self-certification scheme applies to residential buildings constructed on plots up to 2,500 square feet or with a built-up area of up to 3,500 square feet. These buildings can have a maximum of two dwelling units, located on the ground floor or the ground and one intermediate floor, with a height not exceeding seven meters.

The scheme applies to plots on approved layouts, layouts covered under the 2017 regularization scheme, and plots registered by a deed before October 20, 2016.

Benefits and Exemptions

- Infrastructure and amenity charges are waived

- Completion certificates are no longer needed

- The permission is valid for at least 5 years and renewable for 3 years

Exclusions

The self-certification scheme is not applicable in regions protected by the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) and the Hill Area Conservation Authority (HACA). Additionally, lands categorized as agricultural, institutional, non-urban, special, hazardous, open space, and recreational use zones are excluded from the scheme.
